Where it all Began

Roy and Anna Turner arrived on Haggerstone Island in 1985. A large barge carried timber, fruit trees and chickens. They had all the necessities to create their little slice of paradise.

The Main House was the first building constructed. It’s a charming large pole home with a thatched roof. Every corner contains trinkets and treasures collected from around the island.

Breakfast and dinner are served here, with lunch usually out on the boat. Also, while we prepare dinner, sit by the fire pit and enjoy a glass of wine.

Island Accommodation

Haus Mawu

Haus Mawu was designed exclusively by Roy. It’s the most deluxe and largest of all accommodation types. Designed with African and Morrocan influence. The self-contained villa is situated on the hillside. So, you can overlook the vast lagoon and beach.

Boasting two queen bedrooms, along with a bedroom in the loft. There’s room for everyone in the open-plan kitchen and lounge area. Meanwhile, you can relax by the stone fireplace and library.

Beach Hut

The Haggerstone Island Resort Beach Hut is positioned right on the beach. The most secluded of all room types on the island. This beautiful open-plan hut is made mostly of driftwood. It can sleep two adults or a family of three.

Open the large canvas shutters, and feel the balmy breeze come in straight off the ocean. Meanwhile, enjoy uninterrupted views out to the Great Barrier Reef. Additionally, a boardwalk will lead you to your private open shower and bathroom. All are surrounded by a beautiful coconut forest.

Lagoon Hut

The Lagoon Hut is a shell’s throw away from the shoreline of the islands largest coral lagoon. Soak up island life with views of the Coral Sea. Situated so close to the water’s edge, you can hear the gentle lapping of the waves. Comfortably sleep two adults or a family of four.

Truly a stunning open plan timber pole hut. It sits above ground level. Therefore, ensuring magnificent ocean views out to the reef. With polished floors as well as glass doors. Beautiful timber shutters surround the whole hut, to let in that fresh ocean breeze.

Kwilla Hut

The Kwilla Hut on Haggerstone Island Resort is where the ocean meets the forest. Situated under the forest canopy. This round hut offers a large deck. Comfortably sleeps two adults or a family of four.

This open-plan villa embodies Papua New Guinea and African design. Everywhere you look, you’ll find interesting artefacts.

Included in the accommodation costs are all water adventures. Along with equipment and Jetski use.
