Kuranda and Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure

Kuranda and Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure will deliver a taste of true Far North Queensland.  Rather than trying to cram everything into one day, this package is spread over 2 separate days. Get ready to discover the highlights of Cairns.

Choo choo…

Combine the Scenic Train journey with the world-famous Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. See the rainforest from eye level, as well as from up high! Not to mention this is also a great way to experience the World Heritage-listed tropical rainforest.

Firstly, travel by the iconic Kuranda Scenic Train. Learn about the pioneering history of Tropical North Queensland on this 90-minute journey. As an illustration, imagine yourself winding your way amid the rainforest from Cairns to Kuranda. Across 40 small bridges you will go, alongside trickling waterfalls and through many dark hand-dug tunnels.

You will be in awe of the excellent views of the rainforest. Take in the steep ravines, and pass by picturesque waterfalls. To put it another way, you will be spoiled by the beautiful landscapes found within the Barron Gorge National Park.

The Village in the rainforest

Finally, after your 90-minute train journey, you will arrive in Kuranda, a village in the rainforest.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll through this quaint village. Explore the eclectic stalls at the Heritage and Original Markets. On the other hand, take some time out to visit one of the wildlife parks. You can choose from the Koala Gardens, Butterfly Sanctuary, or Birdworld – or visit them all!

Sooner or later, after enjoying what Kuranda has to offer, it is time to head home. Board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for a truly spectacular sight! Not only does the cableway provide a birds-eye-view of the rainforest. But also, you will glide only meters above the rainforest canopy.

The Skyrail cableway stretches through 7.5 km of tropical Rainforests in North Queensland. That is to say, it provides people with a unique opportunity. Especially as you will be able to experience the rainforest in a safe and environmentally friendly way. Enjoy a stop at Skyrail’s two mid-stations, Barron Falls Station and Red Peak Station. By all means, you can explore the stations on your own. Or, you can enjoy Ranger-guided boardwalk tours to learn more about the Flora and Fauna.

Crikey! It’s Croc time!

Now that you have made the most of the Rainforest on your Kuranda and Hartleys Crocodile Adventure, it is time to head to the Crocodile park! You will be collected from your hotel and then we head north. At Hartleys Crocodile Adventures, you can enjoy interacting with some of Australia’s iconic native wildlife.

After all, when you have arrive at Hartleys you will have plenty of free time to explore the park. Cruise through the Melaleuca wetlands, home of the saltwater crocodile. You can explore the park at your own pace. Not to mention, there is plenty of Australian native wildlife waiting to be found. With attention to water birds, turtles, wallabies, koalas, and cassowaries.

There are many Animal Shows available during the day. In particular, the famous Crocodile Attack Show!  You will get to see the famous head shake and death roll tactics that crocodiles use.  You can also get the chance to hold a crocodile (or koala) for a photo (own expense).
