Day 1 – Kuranda Train and Skyrail
Combining the Scenic Train journey with the world famous Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is a great way to experience this World Heritage listed tropical rainforest.
First, you will travel by the scenic train and learn about the pioneering history of Tropical North Queensland. During the 90 minute journey, you will climb over 40 small bridges and through many dark tunnels while winding your way from Cairns to Kuranda.
You will be in awe of the excellent views of the rainforest, steep ravines and picturesque waterfalls within the Barron Gorge National Park.
After your 90 minute train journey, you will arrive at Kuranda, a village in the rainforest.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll through this quaint village, shop at the heritage markets or perhaps visit one of the wildlife parks in the area.
Finally, after a few hours enjoying what Kuranda has to offer, you will board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.
Skyrail provides an extraordinary birds-eye-view of the rainforest as it glides only meters above the rainforest canopy.
Stretching 7.5 km through the tropical Rainforests of North Queensland, Skyrail provides people with a unique opportunity, to see and experience the rainforest in a safe and environmentally friendly way. Enjoy a stop at Skyrail’s two mid-stations where you can enjoy Ranger guided boardwalk tours.
PLEASE NOTE:
As at July 2020, Skyrail is currently not operating. This tour itinerary has changed, and you will now be transferred from Kuranda at 3.00 pm by air-conditioned coach to your Cairns accommodation.

Day 2 – Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures
Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures Half Day tour will collect you from your accommodation and then head north to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures to enjoy interacting with some of Australia’s iconic native wildlife.
Once you have arrived at Hartley’s you will have plenty of free time to explore. Cruise through the Melaleuca wetlands, which is the home of the saltwater crocodile. You can then wander through the rest of the park where you will encounter an abundance of Australian native wildlife. You will see water birds, turtles, wallabies, koalas and cassowaries.
Don’t forget the famous Crocodile Attack Show! You will see the notorious head shake and death roll predatory tactics of these huge prehistoric animals. You can also take an opportunity to hold a crocodile for a photo (own expense).
