Hot Getaways is a community as much as it is a platform. We connect travellers, local businesses and community organisations across Australia — and like any community, we work best when everyone treats each other with respect and care.
These guidelines apply to everyone who interacts with Hot Getaways — travellers, business owners, partners, contributors and visitors to our website and social channels.
THE HOT GETAWAYS COMMUNITY SPIRIT
We are guided by three simple ideas:
- Care. The care factor is why people come back. We expect everyone in our community to treat others — travellers, hosts, operators and locals — with genuine kindness and consideration.
- Honesty. Share your real experiences. Authentic reviews and stories are what make our platform valuable. We do not want staged, purchased or dishonest content.
- Respect. Australia is home to people of all backgrounds, cultures and abilities. We expect our community to be inclusive, welcoming and free from discrimination in all forms.
WHAT WE ENCOURAGE
- Genuine reviews and honest feedback about tours, experiences and destinations.
- Sharing stories that celebrate local communities and the people who make them special.
- Constructive suggestions that help operators and our platform improve.
- Respectful engagement with other community members.
- Questions, curiosity and enthusiasm about exploring Australia.
WHAT WE DO NOT ALLOW
The following are not acceptable in our community:
- Discrimination and harassment — Any content or behaviour that discriminates against or harasses individuals based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other characteristic.
- Misinformation — Deliberately false or misleading information about destinations, operators, experiences or Hot Getaways itself.
- Fake reviews — Paid, incentivised or otherwise inauthentic reviews or testimonials.
- Spam and self-promotion — Unsolicited advertising, repetitive posts or commercial promotion without our permission.
- Harmful content — Anything that promotes violence, illegal activity, exploitation or harm to people, animals or the environment.
- Copyright infringement — Sharing content that belongs to someone else without permission. See our Copyright Policy.
- Impersonation — Pretending to be someone else, including Hot Getaways staff, operators or other users.
FIRST NATIONS RESPECT
Australia’s First Nations peoples are the traditional custodians of the lands we celebrate. We expect our community to engage with First Nations cultures, stories and country with deep respect — listening before speaking, and following the guidance of community leaders about what is and is not appropriate to share.
RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL
We encourage all travellers in our community to:
- Leave natural environments as they found them — or better.
- Support local businesses and community-owned enterprises.
- Respect local customs, rules and private property.
- Follow any safety or environmental guidelines set by operators and authorities.
MODERATION
Hot Getaways reserves the right to remove content that violates these guidelines, and to restrict or suspend access for community members who repeatedly or seriously breach them.
We aim to moderate with fairness and common sense. If you believe content has been removed in error, or you wish to dispute a moderation decision, contact us at [email protected].
REPORTING CONCERNS
If you see content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, please let us know. We take all reports seriously and will act where appropriate.
