At Hot Getaways, we believe Australia’s natural environment is one of the most extraordinary on earth. Our landscapes, its coastlines, its ancient rainforests and its unique wildlife exist nowhere else on the planet. We believe we have a responsibility to protect them, not merely to enjoy them.
This commitment reflects who we are — a business built around the care factor. The same values that guide how we treat our travellers, our partners and our communities also guide how we approach our responsibility to the environment.
OUR HONEST POSITION
We are a growing platform, not a large corporation. We are committed to being honest about where we are in our sustainability journey and transparent about the steps we are taking.
We will not make claims we cannot substantiate. We will not use environmental language as marketing if it does not reflect genuine practice.
As Hot Getaways grows, so will our capacity to make a meaningful difference.
OUR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENTS
We are committed to operating as responsibly as possible. This includes:
- Responsible Digital Operations — We aim to choose hosting, technology and service providers that prioritise renewable energy and responsible environmental practices where possible. We are continuously reviewing our digital footprint and working to reduce it.
- Promoting Responsible Travel — We encourage our community to travel responsibly — to respect local environments, support local businesses and leave places better than they found them. We actively promote operators and experiences that demonstrate genuine environmental care.
- Conscious Partnerships — When selecting Experience Enhancers and business partners, we consider their environmental practices as part of our evaluation. We prefer partners who share our commitment to sustainability.
- Minimal Waste — As a digital-first business, we do not produce physical marketing materials or printed collateral. We operate lean and digital by design.
- Community and Conservation — A portion of our future community programs will support environmental education, conservation efforts and Indigenous land stewardship — honouring the traditional custodians of the lands we celebrate.
WHAT WE DO NOT CLAIM
We do not currently claim to be carbon neutral, carbon offset or certified by any environmental standard. These are goals we are working towards as the business grows.
We are wary of greenwashing — making sustainability claims that are not backed by action. We would rather say less and do more.

If you are a business, operator or community organisation committed to sustainable and responsible practice, we would love to hear from you. We are actively seeking to build a network of genuine, environmentally responsible Experience Enhancers and community partners.
