Cairns Aquarium & Tomb of Pharaohs Combo 🐠🏺

Step into two very different worlds in one unforgettable day with the Cairns Aquarium & Tomb of Pharaohs Combo. First, discover the underwater wonders of Tropical North Queensland. Then, travel back in time to explore the golden treasures of ancient Egypt. This combo blends nature, history, and culture, making it ideal for families, couples, and curious travellers.

Cairns Aquarium 🐠

Begin your adventure at the Cairns Aquarium, where more than 16,000 aquatic creatures are waiting. As you move through the exhibits, you’ll explore everything from vibrant coral reefs to winding river systems and lush rainforest waterways. Each display highlights the fragile connections between species and their ecosystems, much like those found in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.

Even better, your ticket includes:

  • Single-day admission with all-day access
  • Daily animal and ecosystem presentations
  • An interactive Marine Touch Tank encounter
  • The exciting Ray and Shark Feeding Show

The Aquarium is open 365 days a year from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, with last entry at 2:30 pm. Because of its variety, it’s a favourite for both children and adults. Kids love the touch tanks, while adults enjoy learning from passionate guides.

Tomb of Pharaohs Exhibition 🏺

After the sea, continue your day with a journey into ancient Egypt at Cairns’ newest cultural attraction — the Tomb of Pharaohs exhibition. Here, you’ll see more than 450 museum-quality items that were handcrafted in Egypt.

Across 11 immersive galleries, the world of the Pharaohs comes alive. You’ll walk through life-like recreations of royal burial tombs, gaze at glittering artefacts, and admire treasures spanning 3,000 years of history.

Highlights include:

  • The gem-encrusted belongings of Queen Nefertari and King Tut
  • The solid silver falcon-shaped coffin of King Shoshenq II
  • The earliest tombs of Saqqara, near the 4,500-year-old Step Pyramid (read more on World History Encyclopedia – Saqqara)
  • Colossal stone statues and mummified animals

In addition, you can learn how to read hieroglyphs and capture incredible photos among dazzling golden treasures.
