After dusk, the rainforest’s enchantment awakens and greets you with a symphony of frog croaks and the glitter of a million eyes.
Let’s Go Buggin is the ideal two-hour walking nature trip with photography in small groups. Not to mention that those interested in tiny creatures can use their cameras to photograph a variety of tiny marvels. You will receive assistance and mentoring from renowned macro photographer Bridgette Gower of Cairns. Furthermore, you will also have the opportunity to marvel at the Cairns Botanic Gardens at night time!
What will I see?
During this walk, you might encounter different frogs, such as Northern Stony Creek frogs and White-lipped tree frogs, and all sorts of Spiders, including Mirrorball, Huntsman, Orb-weavers, Tarantulas and Net casters. We may encounter Striped Possums, Bandicoots, Pademelons, Snakes, Geckos, Papuan Frogmouths, and so much more!
Alternatively, maybe it is the wonderous tree fungi that inspire you! Together with the guidance from Bridgette, you will be able to capture those stunning snaps on your Nature Walk.

Itinerary
First, after meeting your guide Bridgette at the Cairns Botanic Gardens, you will commence a walk through the Gardens where Bridgette will show you the hidden wonders. The walking route is adapted to the Seasons so may vary, meaning no 2 walks will be the same! If you let Bridgette know your interests, she will adapt the walks to find those little critters you have been searching for!

What to bring
- Torches are needed for Night Walks. The light on your mobile phone will not be bright enough to give any decent visibility in the rainforest. Feel free to bring your own, or your guide will have some simple head torches to use free of charge.
- Covered Shoes
- Umbrella, camera cover and /or poncho if raining
As well as a Camera! (Camera hire is available if needed).
How to get there
You will need to meet out in front of the Cairns Botanic Gardens, located at 78-96 Collins Avenue , 15 minutes before your booked time.
Important Information
Please advise at the time of booking if in a Wheelchair. Most areas of the Botanic Gardens are accessible via Wheelchair, and for this reason, the route can be adapted to accommodate.
Also, If you have known allergies to Bees or Insects.
The minimum age for this tour is 8 years old.
